Pirc Defense
I am concerned with the accuracy of some of these openings in Month 1.
Example... in the Pirc Defense topic, there is an impossible line:
7.Kh1 I can assume that is supposed to be 7.Kf1. But then 9.Kh3? Very disturbing. When I pay for something, I expect it to be at least accurate.
Bit of a concern.
Example... in the Pirc Defense topic, there is an impossible line:
We think the best move is 7.Bd2, but 7.Kh1 Qxc5 8.Be3 Qa5 9.Kh3 or 7.Qd3 Qxc5 8.Be3 Qa5 9.Qb5+ also leads to interesting positions.

The moves are ok in the chessbase file.

Re: Pirc Defense
No, they are not. When you find the exact line I referenced above, the comments in the game file in the chessbase file is equally faulty.

Hmmm, yes, this course is quirky. You will come to see it as endearing, but at first it is annoying. The content really is quite good if you are willing to be accepting of such foibles.
Re: Pirc Defense
I will stick it out, I want to get as much out of this course as I can, but it's quite annoying when I find these glaring errors.
Surely others have found them too... I am surprised they haven't been fixed.

Re: Pirc Defense
Maybe a note about the typos in this Pirc line should be added to the "ICS Errata" topic under the Main Course: General Discussion?

Re: Pirc Defense
Perhaps there should be a similar topic in the Opening Course: General Discussion?!

Re: Pirc Defense
ICS is vary good at fixing there errors, maybe drop them a note. My experience is that they get back to you within a few days.
Best of luck,

Re: Pirc Defense
ICS, may have fixed this issue. Looking at it now
7.Bd2 "An interesting line which Chernin doesn't mention in his excellent book "Pirc Alert!". I think this is the best option for White, otherwise Black can meet h5 by the excellent plan ¤xh5 followed by ¥xc3." It goes on to say 7.Kf1 Qxc5. ICS may be following our forum.

Re: Pirc Defense
They would be silly not monitor this forum, however, I find no indication at all that they do or that the error is being/has been fixed.
