Chess Play/Study Environmental Optimization Empty Chess Play/Study Environmental Optimization

Recently I explored using binaural beats to improve my sleep quality (for athletics) with mixed results. I think there may be something there as I see similar initiatives in other performance based activities.

I came across this study focused on chess and "theta" waves that look interesting https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6981879.  It is well known that Bobby Fischer studied in a background of Rock N Roll music, and there are other studies showing some value of classical genres.

Has anyone noticed improved performance with background music?

Yes I did use the bi-neural beats from youtube for Blood Pressure and it did have some positive effect on me. But it was nothing drastic and it can be quite possible the effects were purely psychological
