How much rest do we take?
Had a day off of chess today. I am knackered. How much do others train?
4 days 5, 6 or every day?
Do you feel you are learnig when you practice all of the time or do you feel that you need a break sometimes?

Re: How much rest do we take?
I try to take one day off a week, and do chess about 6 hours a day otherwise. I play two slow games a week minimum, too. Fridays are a good day to take off.

I try to study as much as I can during the week but I usually can't study much on the weekend. So, weekends off mostly for me.

Umm, I meant to say 2 hours a day. Six would be a bit excessive. After all it is just a silly game.

If I don't have much to do at work - as the case is on most days I try to study the whole day until I have a headache!

We're all different. It is what works for you. If you can get the quality with 6 hours rather than the quantity then I'm jealous!! Good luck.

Well, i'm back. (c) Tolkien.
My feet are destroyed, my eyes are full of beautiful landscapes, thus it's good to go back to chess and use my brain a little now :-)

Re: How much rest do we take?
Oh ?!
It's much more complicated, the horse moves on the 2D board but goes to hyperspace from time to time. When a piece prevent him to reach its final square, the horse gets into a wormhole and reappear on the other side.
Some dummy people say the horse jumped using the third dimension of the board, but it is a misconception, I never saw a real horse jumping abeam, making 1 step 90° from its starting point !
In reality it was wormholed, and poped out a few squares ahead, thus his curve trajectory is simply explained by a straighforward 3 squares move in the hyperspace geometry. So obvious when you think about it.

Re: How much rest do we take?
The time i am not eating or watching television (or in loo ) i think i am with chess. I do tactics training or read in materials.
When it needs to freshen up, i play some quick online blitz. Or at the most play some online bridge or rummy games.
I normally play after returning from office at evening (around 7pm) and continue till 11, with dinner breaks. In weekends, i think it's the full day (except the marketing time ..lol)
