Let me know BQ once you created a new ICS forum site. I'll subscribe in a heartbeat!

Yet our administrator said in one of his posts during his active period that he was going to restrict himself to three visits a day!

It would make it a lot easier if BDK would just hand over the reigns. I can create a new forum, but there's a lot of content here which would be missing from any new forum.

Maybe someone else would have better luck communicating with him?

Perhaps it would be even better if ICS took over administrating this site, and it became their site that they could monitor and control....I doubt they will want to do this, so in the meantime I will put cleanup in other hands. :O I will also commit to going through over the next few weeks and helping to cut out the bullshit spam posts.

Yes, ICS should have a presence here, but that of course is entirely up to them.

This is good news !! Hope this site come back to life again. I really don't understand why ICS wouldn't adopt this site. Many companies would love to have such a site, especially when most of the work is already done !! Is ICS aware of this site and have they been asked to take over? This could be an amazing plus for ICS to communicate with their members.

Good news indeed. I'm glad to know that BDK has spent his time to visit us again to reactivate the forum. Now re: ICS taking over the forum? I doubt that it would be healthy for us. This forum should remain neutral from ICS itself, lest we will just become their marketing arm rather than free critics.

Good point! I picked up on the Smirnov course(s) on this forum and found the opening and calculation courses to be great companions to the ICS material. It's unlikely that I would have seen the other member experiences on an ICS "corporate" site.

ICS having a presence...probably not a bad idea. How many posts are out there about items that individuals have not got to...or perhaps do not understand very well? Heck, the could even keep us apprise of future plans.

I can go to Samsung or Sony forums...or in Chess even the Rybka site and see all sorts of negative talk or talk about other products...not spam though.

Just about anything to increase participation would be good. Heck, ICS should see it as a way to promote their products

Presence, yes; but taking over as part of ICS itself, well, maybe we have to think twice. It would be nice if they can take part in the discussion as well as answer students inquiry ( or rants and what nots). But censorship should remain under jurisdiction of our own admin (BQ).

First, why is anyone even bringing up 'censoring'?? Go to a Samsung (picking that out of thin air since I have several Samsung products) forum that they run - lots of negative comments. If anyone 'ran' a website and a customer NEVER saw negative things, that customer would surely know what is going on.

In any case, better them 'taking over' if the website remained viable as opposed to what we have seen actually happen here over the years.

BTW, Leavenfish, how's the extra courses? Care to share your assessment?
