Introducing myself
Hi everyone. Thanks for coming. I don't expect many people to use this site, so if you are here I thank you. Feel free to introduce yourself in this subforum, or even as a response to this thread.
I'm sick of sucking at chess, but I'm also sick of focusing exclusively on tactics. This course looks weird, interesting, and I think it might actually help. I look forward to tracking my progress as I struggle through what looks to be an intense course. One thing that attracted me was that it seemed to be well balanced, with lots of problems and annotated games in addition to theory. The last thing I really need is more theory.
I keep bouncing between 1050 and 1100 USCF rating. This is not acceptable. My knowledge is so far out past my actual skill that I want to shut up and improve at this stupid game. My goal is fairly lofty: go up to 1400 USCF by April next year!

I guess it has mostly to do with not having implemented your vast knowlegde of chess in your thought proces or with a not consequent holding on your thought proces, playing moves to fast or giving to much empathy to a threat of your oponnent, or ... .
Your goal is indeed fairly lofty. I can only dare you to go up to 1500 USCF by April next year instead of 1400 just to give you that extra push you seem to need in your games.
